The Lifting Operations & Lifting Equipment Regulations, (LOLER) 1998 state that “Aerial platforms must be inspected every 6 months by a competent person to ensure safety.”
Our SMA package includes the following*:
- 1 x Annual service (including consumables)
- 2 x Mandatory LOLER Inspections
- Certification and Authorisation Documents
- Condition Evaluation
We can also cover breakdowns at an agreed additional cost.

The safety and welfare of workers is extremely important and therefore there are certain regulations that the access platform industry must adhere to.
The LOLER regulations from the Health and Safety Executive (HSE), include rules and guidelines to ensure the health and safety of workers using lifting equipment.
Regulation 9c states that all Mobile Elevating Work Platforms (MEWP’s) must be thoroughly examined by a competent person at least every six months.
A competent assessed person (CAP) is independently assessed by IPAF, to ensure each engineer is qualified to examine your machine safely and effectively.
